What are the benefits of Meditation?

Meditation is a way to help manage stress by quieting and relaxing the mind and body. Many people find that it helps to lower stress, increase energy, decrease pain and discomfort and improve sleep.

Mindfulness meditation connects physical health with psychological and spiritual wellness. This practice improves overall quality of life by managing stress and inspiring hope. Meditation has been shown to have the following benefits:

  • Stress and anxiety reduction
  • Decreased fatigue
  • Improved quality of life
  • Depression and mood disturbance reduction
  • Decreased nausea/vomiting

What should I expect during a Meditation class?

Begin by having no expectations. Meditation is different for everyone. With that being said, you may experience a sense of deep relaxation and serenity. Your mind may stop racing and your body may not feel as tense. You may see pictures and colors or nothing at all. You may experience greater focus, clarity, and awareness. Following meditation, you may feel calmer, sleep better, and have less stress and anxiety. Above all, you will be part of a wonderful, supportive, and empowering group dynamic.

Our mediation classes are offered in a hybrid or virtual option. Our hybrid class allows participants to choose to attend in-person in the beautiful, calm meditation room within the Pluta Integrative Oncology and Wellness Center or on Zoom from the comfort of their own home. Our Zoom classes can be done wherever you happen to be! The beauty of a meditation class? I all you need is to be able to hear our instructor’s voice.
