Nutrition

Research suggests that healthy eating habits and support from a Registered Oncology Dietitian can help alleviate the side effects of cancer treatment. A diet that is high in unprocessed, plant-based food has been shown to reduce the risk for obesity and cancer, and is beneficial for overall health.

Our nutrition program focuses on helping patients:

  • Keep a healthy body weight
  • Learn to cook and prepare meals using unprocessed, plant-based foods
  • Use plant-based forms of protein and reducing consumption of animal proteins
  • Decrease side effects both during and after treatment

Thanks to the funding by the Pluta Cancer Center Foundation, services are available at no cost to qualified patients.
